How To Order a Custom Pet Portrait:
1. Choose Photos: The best photos are those that capture your pet's unique personality. Clear, close-up, high-resolution shots are the BEST. This is the photo I will use to paint the portrait; details are very important. Try to choose a photo that has your pet in the pose you like, since this is the way he/she will be painted. Capturing the personality of your pet is key! I try to paint the portrait as close to the photo as possible, or I can get creative. I can also combine photos to reach the desired composition.
2. Place an Order: To get started, simply contact me so we can discuss your desires, such as the size of the painting and specifics such as medium (watercolor or acrylics), the substrate (paper with mat, or cradled board), colors you might want incorporated into the background, whether you would like to add the pet's name, embellishments such as metal name tags, amount of realism versus impressionism, etc. A 50% deposit is required at this time.
3. Before the painting is complete, I will email you a photo of the almost-finished piece for your review. If you are not satisfied with my work, we can discuss revision options. I will do my very best to make the painting just right. If my revisions are not acceptable, you are not obligated to purchase the painting and pay the balance; it will become part of my personal collection that can be sold or displayed. When you are satisfied with the art, I will ship the painting as soon as remaining balance payment is received.
Portrait Prices apply to a one-animal portrait like those shown above, with a plain or abstract background. (If you would like extra background detail, or you would like to include more than one subject, please contact me with your requirements and I’ll give you a quote).
